External Wall Insulation

External wall insulation dramatically reduces heat loss in your home. It also reduces carbon emissions, your energy bills, and provides your home with a fresh new appearance. External wall insulation is especially suitable for hard-to-treat homes that cannot use cavity wall insulation. A substantial amount of the cost of using external wall insulation can be met by SEI grant funding of €4000.

What is done to the house with External Insulation?

The outer walls of the house will be covered in layers of insulating material and then given a weather-proof finish.

What are the possible finishes that can be achieved?

There are a wide variety of finishes available such as brick, scraped texture, smooth synthetic finish and pebble-dash.

SEI Grant Funding

The Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) initiative offers grant funding of €4000 for upgrading your home using External Wall Insulation. We are SEI registered contractors (Contractor ID 12208) and therefore you would be eligible to apply for funding under this scheme. SEI is the Irish Government's national energy agency and is dedicated to promoting and assisting in the development of sustainable energy. The Home Energy Saving scheme provides grants to homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their homes in order to reduce energy use and costs as well as cutting carbon emissions. All homes built before 2006 are eligible in the scheme and grant funding is available for individual homeowners as well as landlords of multiple properties (See SEI Home Energy Saving Scheme (HES).) Alongside the cost of installing efficiency measures, grants are also available for Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments (before and after the work is completed).
